Islām | Zaydi Shia
Islām, as understood & practiced in the Zaydi tradition, also known as Zaydiyyah or Zaydi Shia – is a monotheistic religion, that believes in one transcendental God, Allah, and follows what was revealed by Allah to His Messengers or Prophets, the Seal of Prophets Muhammad (ﷺ), what was thought by Divinely appointed Leader of Faithful Alī ibn abi Tālib and the Divinely purified People of the House, the Ahl al Bayt, peace be upon them.
Zaydis are named after Zayd ibn Alī, the grandson of Husayn ibn Alī and the son of the 4th Imam Zayn al-Abidin.
Zaydi theology is often called a “middle position” between Sunni & Twelver Shia schools, very close to Ibadi & Mutazila schools.
Zaydis’ theological literature puts an emphasis on justice and human responsibility, and its political implications.
